The Brownies

Brownies

Who can join?
Any girl aged between 7 and 10years old. You do not need to have been a Rainbow to be a Brownie.

What Do They Do?
There are lots of things do as a Brownie. The Brownie Adventure is divided into three areas of You, Community and the World. Each area has three sections, which explore the topic and then develop it further. A Brownie chooses her own activities from the three areas and with each year extends her knowledge and understanding. For the Brownie who likes a challenge there are also Brownie Interest badges to stretch their abilities and develop skills and knowledge. There are many interest badges covering lots of hobbies and interests. Badges can be done alone or as sixes and even with the whole unit.

Brownies can also go away with their units for action packed weekends at various houses and cottages around Yorkshire and even further afield.

What Other Opportunities Are There?
Activity days just for Brownies to meet other Brownies: these often explore some badges they would not have thought of doing.
There are also chances to see the Guides and Senior Section at work by going to camp for a day, as well as other fun days throughout the year for all sections.
